Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a Commercial Interior Designer?

A Commercial Interior Designer focuses on designing spaces for a physical business. We focus on Hospitality design, Retail design, Wellness design and Commercial Office design. And pretty much everything else in between you can think of.

It is also important to understand that a professional Interior Designer needs to be qualified. Recognised Australian qualifications and courses can be found through the Design Institute of Australia (DIA), website and also Building Design Qld

Barbie holds a Degree in Interior Design (Commercial) from Torrens University Australia (Billy Blue College of Design)

  • why do i need an interior designer?

Today’s market is competitive and the way to stand out from the crowd is to ensure you create a connecting experience for the users of your Interior space. You may have an amazing product or service, but how you present yourself and your business is how your customers connect with your brand. We are emotional buyers by nature.

A professional Interior Design service will not only assist in attracting more clients but will also entice your clients to believe in your brand.

    We crave experiences, not products.

Your favourite Cafe, Hotel or Retail store was more than likely professionally designed by a Commercial Interior Designer.

Assuming you want to be the best in your field? We make it our business to help build your reputation through incredible spaces your customers will love.

  • When do I engage with an Interior Designer?

Interior Design should be your first point of call when considering a new design or a renovation. We can assist in finding the right location by working with you and the Real Estate Agent.

Before you talk about building, you should be consulting an Interior Designer first. You can’t build or get an idea of costs without a design in place. We will work through any constraints you have such as budget, time frames and location.

We can also put a team together for your project encompassing a Builder, Certifier and various required Trades.

We talk ‘real’ with our clients. No over promising and under-delivering. We will tell you where you will get the most value out of your design and what elements need to be focused on.

  • what does it cost to hire an interior designer?

As you can imagine, each project is very unique. Interior Design is the most important element of your Fitout. The design of your space is a direct reflection of who you are and what values you hold. A disorganised or less than adequate looking fitout can be a reflection of your business.

On average, your total project budget should include at least 10% allocated to the design of your space. But this will depend on how much time, the elements required and the detail of your design is.

We offer a FREE 20-minute phone call to discuss your project, or if you prefer a face-to-face meeting, let’s chat over a coffee, or a wine, whatever your vice! We want to get to know you as much as we can and we are sure you will also get to see we are simply the best Interior Design option for you.

If you decide to move forward with our services, we will put together a design proposal for you with approximate design fees based on the information you have shared with us.

We are honest and upfront. If you are told by anyone they can guarantee the price of your fitout, they simply can’t.

  • How much am i involved in the process?

This is completely up to you! We have some clients who would like to be very involved and others who want us to run with the project and give updates as required.

What we do know is that communication between ALL parties is key to a successful Interior Design project. We pride ourselves on being in contact with you A LOT! It is your money and your project and we never take that for granted.

    There are many stages of the Design process including;

    • Design and Brand Research

    • Site Analysis

    • Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Drafting documentation

    • Conceptual and joinery design

    • Materials, furnishings and finishes selections

    • Liaising with trades

    • Product Procurement
